Dr. Alec Hird

Since 2003, Dr. Alexander (Alec) Hird has enjoyed caring for people of all ages providing preventive, restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry.

After his undergraduate degree in Physiology from the University of British Columbia, Dr. Hird earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Western Ontario. He then completed a one-year hospital residency program through the UBC Faculty of Medicine and the BC Cancer Agency.

In addition to private practice, he maintains a number of appointments to a variety of organizations including Vancouver General Hospital, the UBC Faculty of Dentistry, and the College of Dental Surgeons of BC. He also serves as a Public Health Dentist in Haida Gwaii and in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

He is a founding member of the Canadian Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the BC and Canadian Dental Associations.

Dr. Hird also speaks French and Spanish.
